That’s what a free football graphic maker should do: you don’t have to imagine your club in the design, because you’re looking at it. The honest caveat is that SportGraphics is soccer/football only today, with more sports planned.

2. Canva Free: best for a zero-budget one-off poster

Canva is the best general design tool around, and its free plan is genuinely generous. As of August 2026, Canva Free lets you create custom-size designs, use free templates, upload your crest and photos, keep one brand colour palette of up to three colours, add basic animations, and download PNGs or MP4s (video up to 1080p). There’s no watermark as long as you stick to free elements; premium ones must be paid for or downloaded as a watermarked draft.

The limits land on exactly the features that make football graphics quick. Background Remover (player cut-outs), logos and uploaded fonts in the Brand Kit, Magic Resize (square to story in one click) and transparent-background downloads all need a paid plan. Canva Pro is priced per person, varies by country and has a free trial, so check Canva’s pricing page for your region.

The real cost of Canva Free is time. Every fixture, lineup and goal is a manual edit, a lineup means eleven names and photos every week, and there’s no roster to fill anything from. 3. Terrace: a real free tier, with a daily cap

Terrace is football-only, set-up-once and priced for grassroots clubs, which makes it the closest rival to SportGraphics. Its free plan includes free layouts and packs, full club setup and the option to create your own layouts, with the Terrace watermark and a cap of three exports a day. Animated layouts, Plus layouts, the assets library and unlimited squads and lineups sit on Terrace Plus, at £6/mo including VAT, with a 7-day free trial.

That’s a strong offer, and unlimited exports on Plus is a real advantage. Our case for SportGraphics is the output: on paid plans, every design has a built-in animated MP4 version, in feed and story sizes. The fair test is simple: run the same fixture through both free plans and post the one you’d rather have.

4. Kickly: free sports graphics templates, square only

Kickly is a multi-sport template library, and as a free sports graphic app it’s easy to start: no credit card, and a few hundred free sports graphics templates. The free plan carries a watermark, square 1:1 sizes only, up to 10 saved projects, three brand colours and limited editing features. Animation isn’t mentioned on its pricing page, so check current terms if that matters to you.

The first paid step, Essentials, costs $15/mo billed monthly or $120/yr billed yearly and removes the watermark, but it’s still square-only: 9:16 story sizes start on Kickly Pro ($19/mo, or $180/yr). The workflow is editing each template in the browser; its features page doesn’t list a club roster that fills designs for you.

5. Gipper: a 14-day trial, not a free plan

Gipper is built for US school athletic departments covering many sports. There’s no free plan. Instead you get a 14-day free trial of its top plan, with no credit card, including its full template library with motion templates. After that, billing is annual only, starting at $625/yr for Basic (up to two people). It’s capable department tooling, priced for department budgets, and soccer is one sport among many.

6. BoxOut Sports: a two-week trial, not a free plan

BoxOut Sports also serves US schools and teams, with unlimited users and teams on every plan. There’s no free plan, but there is a two-week free trial of its paid plans. What’s the cheapest way to get watermark-free football graphics?
